FAQ's... Quick answers to some of your questions!
What qualifications do you have?
I am nearing the completion of the Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services course (Canine Behaviour and Training) through Hanrob Dog Training Academy. The module I am yet to complete is on Detector Dogs, which is scheduled to commence in early 2018. A requirement of the course is to log 100 practical hours with established dog trainers. I am currently completing these with The Dog Nose and Amy's Puppy Preschool.
How many dogs do you walk at a time?
I will walk dogs as per our clients requirements. If you prefer your dog is walked in a group, then I will aim to provide this, or if your preference is an individual walk, I will ensure this is the service you receive. Council regulations are that a maximum of four dogs are walked per handler.
How much time do you spend on each walk?
Our on and off-leash group walks are a full hour and individual on-leash walks vary from 30 minutes to a one hour walk depending on you and your dogs requirements. If a walk is cut short due to unforeseen circumstances such as excessive temperatures, heavy rain or thunder storms, the remainder of time will be used for special attention and play.
Do you walk in all weather conditions?
Yes I do, however your dogs safety is always put first. In extreme weather conditions, such as thunderstorms or extreme heat, your pet will not be walked for health and safety reasons. The option of delaying or bringing forward the walk, as well as rescheduling can be made in these circumstances.
